Cavalier’s design approach is to think about how people live day-to-day and then incorporate a range of features into a home which meet these lifestyle choices.
We realise it is important to have separate living zones which allow for people to have space to do their own thing. In many Cavalier designs, the secondary bedrooms and additional bathroom are located in a separate wing of the home which also relates to the communal living areas. These zones are not rigid spaces but rather have an easy flow throughout.
Sometimes offering people less actually gives them a lot more, by removing unnecessary walls we can create a spacious easy living home. A dwarf wall around the dining room creates a separation of spaces but delivers a more open feeling than if the wall was full height to the ceiling.
This flow between living zones extends to the outdoors which is ideally suited to the Australian and New Zealand lifestyle.
Externally, we think about facades and finishes which create a timelessness and very strong street presence.
